WHAT WE BELIVE

"What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us."  -  A.W. Tozer

Statements of Faith

  1.             The Scriptures Inspired - The Scriptures both Old and New Testament are the inspired, infallible revelation of God to man and the authority of faith and conduct. (2 Tim 3:16;
                2 Peter 1:20-21; Proverbs 30:5; Romans 16:25-26)

2.            The Trinity – There is one God, co-equal and eternally found in 3 persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (1 John 5:7; Gen 1:26; Matt 3:16-17, 28:19; Luke 1:35; Isaiah 9:6; Heb 3:7-11)

3.            The Deity of Jesus - The Lord Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death and resurrection, and ascension to the right hand of God. (John 1:1,14, 20:28; 1 Tim 3:16; Isaiah 9:6; Phil 2:5-6; 1 Tim 2:5)

4.            Redemption - Man’s only hope is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Salvation is by faith through grace and demonstrated in repentance. (Gen 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Rom 5:12-21)

5.            Ordinances of the Church:
                a)            Water Baptism – In the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and by full immersion.
(Matt 28:19; Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16; Acts 8:12, 36-38; 10:47-48)
                b)            Holy Communion – The Lord’s Supper, consisting of the Body and Blood of   Jesus. Taken symbolically by those who call Him Lord. (Matt 26:26-29; 1 Cor                                                                             10:16; 11:23-25)

6.            The Baptism of the Holy Spirit - According to Acts 1:8 and Acts 2:4, with one of the signs being speaking in other tongues, along with other gifts. (Joel 2:28-29; Matt 3:11; Acts 1:5, 2:1-4, 17, 38-           39, 8:14-17, 10:38, 44-47, 11:15-17, 19:1-6)

8.            The Church and Its Mission - The church is the representative of Jesus on earth and is to carry out the Great Commission. (Eph 1:22, 2:19-22; Heb 12:23; John 17:11, 20-23)

9.            Divine Healing -  Is provided for today by the Scriptures and included in the atonement for our sins. (Psalm 103:2-3; Isaiah 53:5; Matt 8:16-17; Mark 16:17-18, Acts 8:6-7; James 5:14-16; 1           Cor 12:9, 28; Rom 11:29)

10.         The Resurrection – Jesus Christ was physically resurrected from the dead in a glorified body 3 days after His death on the cross. All will be resurrected again one day and those who are saved into eternity with Jesus and those who are lost to eternal damnation. The resurrection of the just is the blessed hope of the body of Christ. (Luke 24:16, 36, 39; John 2:19-21, 20:26-28, 21:4; Acts 24:15; 1 Cor 15:42, 44; Phil 1:21-23, 3:21)

11.         The Second Coming –  Jesus Christ will visibly return for a second time to earth to establish His kingdom. All of God’s children will reign forever in a new heaven and new earth. This date cannot be determined by scripture. (Matt 24:30, 26:63-64; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thess 4:15-17; 2 Thess 1:7-8; Rev 1:7)

12.         Statement of Marriage - We believe marriage is defined in the Bible as a covenant, a sacred bond between one man and one woman instituted by and publicly entered into before God. (Matt 19:4-6)
