Peninsula Life Church
The agreement for using the app and Barnabas. Short, and written to be read.
Last updated October 30, 2026
The Peninsula Life Church app, which includes Barnabas, is provided by Peninsula Life Church. By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree to them, please do not use the app. You can reach us at plc_media@peninsulalife.com.
You sign in with a one-time code we send to your email address. Anyone who can read that email can get into your account and read your conversations, so keep your email to yourself. If your account also has a password, keep that to yourself too.
You must be at least 13 years old to have an account.
Tell us if you think somebody else has got into your account.
Barnabas answers questions about the Bible. It is software, and it can be wrong. It can misread a passage, miss the context, or state something with more confidence than it has earned. Check what it tells you against the text, and ask a person you trust.
It is not a pastor, a counselor, a doctor or a lawyer, and nothing it says is professional advice of any kind.
It is not for an emergency. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, do not use this app. In the United States call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, or call 911. Then, when you are safe, talk to somebody at the church.
The church does not endorse any particular answer Barnabas gives. If one is wrong, report it in the app so we can fix it.
The Bible in this app is the World English Bible, which is in the public domain. Reading it is free, and stays free.
Everything in Barnabas is free while the app is new. Nothing is sold in the app and no card is ever asked for.
If the church later decides to charge for some of the study tools, we will tell you in the app before anything changes, and these terms will be updated first. Nothing will ever start charging you without you choosing it in the App Store or Google Play.
Each Barnabas feature has a daily limit and a monthly limit. The app shows how many you have left. They are set well above what anybody reading in good faith will meet, and they exist so that one account cannot run up a bill that the church has to carry.
If your small group has messaging turned on, you can write to the group and to people in it. Those messages are seen by the people you send them to.
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users. Do not post anything hateful, sexual, threatening, harassing or demeaning, and do not use messages to bully, pressure or spam anybody. Messages with certain words are refused before they are sent.
If someone writes something that should not be there, press and hold the message to report it or to block them. Every report goes to church staff the same day. We will remove content that breaks these terms and can stop anyone who posts it from using messaging, or close their account.
What you write stays yours. You give us permission to store it and to send it where it needs to go so the app can answer you, and nothing more. We do not publish it or sell it. Your questions to Barnabas are never shown to other members; only messages you send to people in your group are.
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We can close an account that is being used to harm somebody or to break these terms, and we will tell you why.
The app is provided as it is. The church does not promise it will always be available or always be correct, and is not liable for a decision you make on the strength of something Barnabas said. Nothing here takes away a right you have under the law where you live.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington.
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app rather than quietly updating this page.
